Flu Vaccine Subsidy Plan for Foreign Students Expanded Starting January 1, 2025
- According to the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s letter No. 1130401034 on December 13, 2024.
- To maximize the benefits of the public flu vaccine program, starting January 1, 2025, the Ministry will expand the eligible recipients to include all individuals aged 6 months and above who have not yet received the vaccine, including both citizens of the Republic of China and foreign nationals holding a residence permit. All individuals receiving the public flu vaccine at contracted healthcare facilities, including students, will receive a subsidy of NTD 100 for each vaccination session.
- Foreign students who have obtained residence permits but are still waiting for their official residence cards can use their temporary residence certificate or the receipt for the application for a residence permit as proof of residency to receive the public flu vaccine for the 2025 flu season. However, those without National Health Insurance (NHI) coverage will need to have the vaccine administration fee covered by the institution, pay out of pocket, or have the vaccination center absorb the cost.
