Announcement: 2022-2023 Exchange Student Selection Guidelines for Sister Schools in Mainland China, University of Macau, and National Quemoy University

Explanation:

The exchange program to sister schools in Mainland China, University of Macau, and National Quemoy University is scheduled for one semester.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Undergraduate students in their second or third year and graduate students in their first or second year are eligible to apply.
    • Third-year students may only apply for exchange in the first semester of their senior year.
    • Exchange at University of Macau is for the second semester of the 111th academic year.
  • Academic standing should be in the top 40% of the class or have an average grade of 75 or higher.
  • Applicants must be aware of any nationality, major, or grade-level restrictions imposed by the sister universities. If the applicant does not meet these qualifications, they will be responsible and will not be able to request a reassignment to another university.

Application Website and Submission Time:

  • Application Website: https://exchange.web.tku.edu.tw/ (Application system opens at 12:00 PM on February 14, 2022)
  • Deadline for submitting documents to the department: From February 14 to March 9 (Wednesday) by 5:00 PM.
  • Department submission deadline: March 11 (Friday) by 5:00 PM.

Required Documents:

  1. Printed application form (filled out online) with signatures from the applicant and department head.
  2. Transcripts (including department ranking).
  3. One letter of recommendation from a faculty member.
  4. Personal statement (1500 words or less, format free).
  5. Study plan (1500 words or less, format free).
  6. Guarantee letter (Attachment 3).
  7. Any additional documents that may assist in the recommendation, review, or selection process (e.g., personal materials, can be reduced in size).

Important Reminder: Since the second semester of the 107th academic year, the exchange student selection process for Mainland China will only be held in the second semester of each academic year. Applicants must select their desired exchange semester on the application form and will be grouped for interviews accordingly. As per data protection laws, personal information provided by applicants will be handled appropriately and will only be used for legal and specific purposes within a prescribed retention period.
