Steps for foreign students wishing to return to their home country in the summer vacation

Steps for foreign students wishing to return to their home country in the summer vacation

Step 1: Inform your department and the International and Mainland Students Guidance Section

1. Write a student report (Student Report Form located at https://reurl.cc/2bRy3X) describing your reasons for returning and
submit it to a department staff member. You may book a flight home after your report has been approved by the University
    President.
2. Notify the Guidance Section of your date of departure and estimated date of return to Taiwan.

Step 2: RT-PCR Test

1. Be sure to undergo the COVID-19 PCR test before leaving Taiwan if required by your home country, or inquire with your chosen
    airline.
2. In line with current regulations, upon returning to Taiwan a negative PCR test report from within 3 days of boarding must be
provided. Remember to book an appointment for the test at a relevant hospital in your home country.

Step 3: Confirm the validity of your ARC

Overseas Chinese students, foreign students
1. Only students with a valid ARC will be permitted to enter Taiwan; those whose ARC has expired will be refused entry.
※If your ARC expires on September 30, for example, you must prepare the relevant documents a month before the expiry date
and apply online for an ARC extension. Please make sure that you have in fact filed an online application.
※After completing the online application and fulfilling home quarantine requirements, you may collect your new card at the
       Immigration Office.
2. Students with no ARC or whose ARC has expired should contact the Guidance Section to handle subsequent procedures for
    entering Taiwan.

Mainland Chinese students
1. Current students: Pay attention to the expiry date of your Taiwan entry permit and Temporary Passage Permit, and remember
to apply for an extension prior to expiration.
2. Recent graduates: Within 1 month of the date of receipt of your graduation certificate, students must visit the National
Immigration Office New Taipei Service Center and apply for a single exit permit. Please handle procedures for departure in
accordance with relevant regulations and leave Taiwan by the required date of exit.
Documents required when applying for a single exit permit: (1) Fill in a Mainland Student Entry and Exit Application Form
(may be completed at the counter); (2) A passport photo (specifications equivalent to your national ID card);(3) Hand in an
original copy of your initial entry and exit permit; (4) Graduate certificate (or proof of graduation); (5) Letter of proxy (only
required for proxies acting on students’ behalf); (6) Fees: NT $300; (7) Allow for 5-7 working days; feel free to provide a
self-addressed stamped envelope and request for it to be posted to you by the Immigration Office.

Step 4: Regulations on home quarantine after returning to Taiwan
Your home quarantine venue on returning to Taiwan must include your own separate room with your own bathroom.
Please be sure to follow this regulation. If your current accommodation does not conform to this rule, please make a
reservation to stay at an authorized quarantine facility. All related costs shall be borne by the individual.
